Product launches are continuing at pace with major developments in multiple categories ranging from the very practical to the totally quirky.
UK beauty retail giant Boots is launching Maybe Baby, a bespoke brand, created for it by Poeticgem Ltd, with prices starting from £6. It’s a unisex line for ages 0-2 years. Mollie King, broadcaster and first-time mum, has partnered with Boots as ambassador for the new collection. It joins the extensive baby offering already available at Boots, including over 250 baby and toddler brands. A new Universal baby collection is also debuting at Boots, featuring nostalgic licensed brands such as Jurassic Park and Rugrats.
Monica Vinader, the demi-fine jewellery brand is aiming to set a new standard for gemstone traceability with the launch of its first fully traceable aquamarine collection, Odyssey. It’s in partnership with Zimbaqua, Africa’s first gemstone mine managed by a women only team, located in Karoi, Zimbabwe. Sourcing for gemstones is often opaque, as gemstones are mined all over the world with a complex system of intermediaries. Until this year, Monica Vinader’s traceability has been limited to metals such as gold, silver and lab-grown diamonds. This new partnership with Zimbaqua launching August 2024 marks the next step in the brand’s ambitious journey towards total supply chain traceability and transparency, one that they hope will inspire the industry to follow suit.
Dolce & Gabbana has launched a perfume for dogs named after Domenico Dolce's dog Fefe. The alcohol-free product has been safety-tested and approved by vets and retails at €99 (£85). It features ylang ylang, musk and creamy undertones of sandalwood. The bottle comes with a 24-carat gold-plated paw print.
Golden Goose has celebrated its brand ambassador Keegan Palmer becoming the first skateboarder to win back-to-back Olympic park gold medals by launching his very own limited-edition Keegan Palmer Ball Star Pro sneaker. The style is made “for professional skateboarding performance, withstanding impact and enhancing the skating experience”. We’re told it “evokes a retro vibe in the spirit of the Roaring Twenties in Paris to celebrate both the legacy of skate culture and the Olympics' return to Paris after 100 years”. It’s exclusively available on goldengoose.com, retailing at $820.
